Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan model bimbingan kelompok yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan parenting orang tua. Metode penelitian menggunakan research and development, dengan one-group pretest-posttest design dan pretest-posttest control group design. Partisipan terdiri dari kader dan peserta Bina Keluarga Balita di Kota Bandung. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model bimbingan kelompok efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan parenting orang tua, dalam mengharapkan dan menuntut perilaku bertanggung jawab dari anak, serta dalam menanggapi kebutuhan anak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut model ini direkomendasikan untuk dipelajari, difahami secara utuh, dan diterapkan dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan parenting orang tua. Kata Kunci: bimbingan kelompok, konseling komunitas, kemampuan parenting. The present study is aimed at developing an effective group guidence model for enhancing parents’ parenting abilities as a part of community counseling. The study applies research and development approach with mixed research methods design, using experimental one-group pretest-posttest design and pretest-posttest control group design, as well as qualitative data analyses. The study involves cadres and members of BKB as samples and participants, and applies both qualitative and quantitative data analyses. The study comes up with a number of findings, including that the tested group guidance model under study is effective to enhance parents’ parenting abilities in expecting and demanding children’s responsible behavior, and responding their needs. The model is recommended to be studied thoroughly, and then applied in the efforts to enhance parents’ parenting abilities. Key words: group guidance, community counseling, parenting abilities.
