Abstract
Meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat merupakan salah satu tujuan dari pembangunan nasional. Kemiskinan menjadi salah satu masalah dari upaya meningkatkan kesejahteraan tersebut. Nelayan termasuk sebagai penyumbang terbesar dalam tingkat kemiskinan di Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis karakteristik nelayan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat nelayan di Kecamatan Sumur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah desktiptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, Jumlah responden sebanyak 173 Nelayan. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini adalah teknik persentase, teknik skoring, dan regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas nelayan di Kecamatan Sumur memiliki karakteristik nelayan buruh yaitu nelayan dengan ciri-ciri menggunakan peralatan melaut lengkap milik nelayan juragan dan memakai sistem bagi hasil. Menjadikan melaut sebagai pekerjaan sambilan utama. Berkerja pada usia produktif, dengan rata-rata pengalaman melaut 11-20 tahun dan jangkauan melaut sampai luar Pulau Jawa. Serta pendidikan mayoritas reponden merupakan lulusan Sekolah Dasar. Tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat nelayan di Kecamatan Sumur terdiri dari 55% responden termasuk kategori tingkat kesejahteraan sedang, kemudian 43% responden tergolong tingkat kesejahteraan rendah, dan 1% responden termasuk pada tingkat kesejahteraan tinggi. Faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat nelayan yaitu pendapatan. Improving community welfare is one of the goals of national development. Poverty is one of the problems of efforts to improve welfare. Fishermen are among the largest contributors to poverty rates in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of fishermen and the welfare of fishing communities in Sumur District. The research method used was descriptive with a quantitative approach, the number of respondents was 173 fishermen. The data analysis techniques of this study are percentage techniques, scoring techniques, and regression. The results showed that the majority of fishermen in Sumur District have the characteristics of labor fishermen, namely fishermen with characteristics of using complete fishing equipment owned by Juragan fishermen and using a profit-sharing system. Making going to sea as the main part-time job. Working at a productive age, with an average fishing experience of 11-20 years and a range of fishing outside Java. As well as education, the majority of respondents are elementary school graduates. The welfare level of the fishing community in Sumur District consists of 55% of respondents belonging to the medium welfare level category, then 43% of respondents including the low welfare level, and 1% of respondents including the high welfare level. The dominant factor that affects the welfare level of fishing communities is income.
