Abstract

Sebagian besar lulusan perguruan tinggi terjebak di tengah keadaan sulit karena tidak memiliki persiapan dalam menghadapi tantangan hidup baru di masa transisi setelah kelulusannya. Hal tersebut dapat membuat mereka mengalami fenomena quarter-life crisis, yaitu suatu kondisi krisis emosional ketika individu usia 20-an tidak berdaya saat dihadapkan dengan berbagai perubahan, tantangan, serta pilihan-pilihan terkait masa depan dan dapat berdampak pada psikologis individu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran quarter-life crisis lulusan tinggi di Kota Bandung dan perbedaan berdasarkan demografis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei serta teknik non-probability sampling dengan jenis accidental sampling dan instrumen yang digunakan adalah Quarter-life crisis Scale. Total partisipan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 194 individu yang berasal dari lima perguruan tinggi di Kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara umum lulusan perguruan tinggi di Kota Bandung cenderung mengalami krisis. Selain itu, tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara quarter-life crisis berdasarkan setiap demografi yang diuji, yaitu perguruan tinggi, tingkat pendidikan, status sosial, dan status geografi. Berdasarkan dimensi quarter-life crisis, lulusan UPI cenderung berada pada dimensi penilaian diri negatif dan khawatir terhadap relasi. Rancangan layanan bimbingan dengan strategi coaching quarter-life crisis direkomendasikan untuk konselor perguruan tinggi/BBKPK yang berperan penting dalam membantu mahasiswa UPI di masa transisi setelah kelulusan. Most of college graduates are stuck in the middle of a difficult situation because they have no preparation in facing new life challenges in the transition period after graduation. This can make them experiences the phenomenon of quarter-life crisis, which is a condition of emotional crisis when individuals in their 20s are helpless when they faced various changes, challenges, and choices related to the future and thus it can affect individuals psychologically. This study aims to describe the quarter-life crisis of fresh graduates in Bandung City and differences based on demographics. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey design and non-probability sampling technique with accidental sampling and the instrument used was the Quarter-life crisis Scale. The total number of participants in this study was 194 people from five universities in Bandung City. The results showed that in general, college graduates in Bandung City tend to experience crises. There is no significant difference between quarter-life crisis based on each demographic tested, include college, education level, social status, and geographic status. Based on quarter-life crisis dimension trends, UPI graduates tended to be in the dimensions of negative self-judgement and worry about relationships. A guidance program design with a quarter-life crisis coaching strategy was recommended for college counselors/BBKPK who had an important role in helping UPI students in the transition period after graduation.
