Abstract

Tanaman memerlukan zat hara dan air yang optimal untuk proses tumbuh dan kembang. Kelembaban tanah yang rendah dapat mengakibatkan tanaman menjadi layu, tidak menghasilkan buah yang baik bahkan mati. Namun tingkat kelembapan tanah yang berlebih dapat menyebabkan penurunan kadar oksigen dalam tanah sehingga sistem pernafasan akar terganggu dan terbentuknya zat racun. Dalam praktiknya, petani sering kali mengandalkan insting dan pengalamannya untuk mengukur tingkat kelembapan tanah sehingga sering terjadi ketidaktepatan penggunaan air untuk kegiatan penyiraman. Masalah tersebut menjadi lebih serius jika persediaan air terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem monitoring lahan pertanian dan penyiraman otomatis berbasis Internet of Things. Sistem yang akan dibuat menggunakan sistem sensor nirkabel sehingga memiliki mobilitas dan portabilitas yang tinggi. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian research and development dengan model ADDIE. Hasil perancangan sistem monitoring lahan pertanian yang sudah dibuat berhasil mendeteksi suhu udara, kelembapan udara dan kelembapan tanah. Sistem penyiraman otomatis berhasil secara realtime bekerja berdasarkan kondisi kelembapan tanah. ----- Plants need optimal nutrients and water for the growth and development process. Low soil moisture can cause plants to wilt, not produce good fruit or even die. However, excessive levels of soil moisture can cause a decrease in oxygen levels in the soil so that the root respiratory system is disrupted and toxic substances are formed. In practice, farmers often rely on their instincts and experience to measure soil moisture levels, resulting in inaccurate water use for watering activities. The problem becomes more serious if water supplies are limited. This research aims to develop an agricultural land monitoring and automatic watering system based on the Internet of Things. The system that will be created uses a wireless sensor system so it has high mobility and portability. The method used in this research uses research and development research with the ADDIE model. The results of the agricultural land monitoring system design that has been created have succeeded in detecting air temperature, air humidity and soil moisture. The automatic watering system works in real time based on soil moisture conditions.
