Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan mengenai kurang maksimalnya aktivitas belajar siswa kelas XI saat pembelajaran berlangsung. Hal ini ditemukan berkaitan pula dengan rendahnya antusiasme dan minat siswa untuk terlibat dalam pembelajaran. Maka, guru perlu berupaya untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut yaitu dengan pemberian penguatan atau reinforcement pada siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian reinforcement oleh guru terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa melalui motivasi siswa dalam belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif serta menggunakan metode penelitian ex-post facto. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI di SMA Istiqamah Bandung yang terdiri dari 82 siswa. Sampel penelitian menggunakan jenis sampel jenuh sehingga seluruh populasi menjadi anggota sampel. Data penelitian diambil menggunakan instrumen kuesioner kemudian data diolah menggunakan teknik analisis regresi jalur dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 26. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian reinforcement oleh guru telah berada pada kategori cukup baik sedangkan motivasi siswa dan aktivitas belajar siswa termasuk pada kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan dari pemberian reinforcement terhadap motivasi, 2) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan dari motivasi terhadap aktivitas belajar, serta 3) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan dari pemberian reinforcement terhadap aktivitas belajar melalui motivasi sebagai variabel intervening. This research was motivated by problems regarding the lack of optimal learning activities of class XI students during learning. This was also found to be related to the low enthusiasm and interest of students to be involved in learning. Thus, the teacher tries to take action to solve this problem which is through providing reinforcement to students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving reinforcement by teachers on student learning activities through student motivation in learning. This study uses a quantitative approach and uses ex-post facto research method. The population of this study were all grade XI students at Istiqamah Bandung High School consisting of 82 students. The research sample used a saturated sample type so that the entire population became sample members. The research data were taken using a questionnaire instrument then the data were processed using path regression analysis techniques with the help of SPSS software version 26. The results of the research findings show that the provision of reinforcement by teachers has been in the good enough category while student motivation and student learning activities are in the good category. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) there is a positive and significant effect of reinforcement on motivation, 2) there is a positive and significant effect of motivation on learning activities, and 3) there is a positive and significant effect of reinforcement on learning activities through motivation as an intervening variable.
