Abstract
ABSTRACT The case of domestic violence between the artist couple Rizky Billar and Lesti Kejora has become a trend in public discussion on Instagram and social media. Domestic violence, which is essentially a private issue often becomes widespread on social media when it concerns celebrities. The news is responded to by netizens which often shifts the domestic violence to become a public issue. The purpose of this research is to find out the form of first-person references, second person references as well as their functions and meanings. The data for the research were collected from Lambe Turah Instagram over a period of three months, namely from October to December 2022. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method, to find out the form of first-person references, second person references as well as the function and meaning of using persona references used in the comments netizens commenting on the news r of domestic violence committed by Rizky Billar against Lesti Kejora. The data were analyzed using the Persona Reference Theory proposed by Ewing (2015). The findings of the research show that the most widely used singular first-person reference is the use of the pronoun "I" with a percentage of 15.8%, then the plural first-person reference form that is widely used is the pronoun "we" with a percentage of 10.5%. Then, the second singular-person reference form that is widely used is the use of the word "lu" with a percentage of 13.1%, and the plural second-person reference form that is widely used is the use of the pronoun "you" with a percentage of 5.3%. Then the use of function and meaning that is often found is referential meaning with the function of referring to the interlocutor with a percentage of 46%. The research concludes that the words that include personal references are different both in writing and in speech. Keywords: Netizen comments, persona references, Instagram
