Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh jumlah penduduk miskin yang masih tergolong tinggi di Indonesia. Pendidikan dan kesehatan merupakan komponen langsung dari peningkatan kemampuan individu yang berkualitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan dan kesehatan terhadap kemiskinan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini mengggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan data yang digunakan berupa data sekunder, yakni dari data 14.238 kepala rumah tangga yang diperoleh dari Indonesian Family Life Survey wave 5 (IFLS 5) tahun 2014. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi logistik biner (logistic binary regression). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa setiap bertambahnya satu tahun lama sekolah pada kepala rumah tangga akan menurunkan probabilitas rumah tangga miskin. Begitu juga dengan kesehatan, semakin tinggi tingkat kesehatan yang dimiliki oleh kepala rumah tangga, maka akan menurunkan probabilitas rumah tangga miskin. Sehingga, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan dan kesehatan berpengaruh negatif dan siginifikan terhadap kemiskinan di Indonesia. This research is motivated by Indonesia’s relatively high number of poor people. Education and health are direct components of improving quality individual abilities. This research aims to determine the influence of education and health on poverty in Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative approach with the data used as secondary data, namely from data on 14,238 heads of households obtained from the Indonesian Family Life Survey wave 5 (IFLS 5) in 2014. The analysis technique used is binary logistic regression analysis (logistic binary regression). This research found that every additional year of schooling for the head of the household will reduce the probability of the household being poor. Likewise with health, the higher the level of health possessed by the head of the household, the lower the probability of the household being poor. Thus, the research results show that education and health negatively and significant effect on poverty in Indonesia.
