Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh maraknya kasus toxic relationship di kalangan mahasiswa yang berada pada usia dewasa muda, di mana toxic relationship merupakan tindakan yang merugikan. Toxic relationship sering dijumpai pada kalangan mahasiswa namun sulit untuk bisa keluar dari situasi tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pemahaman, faktor–faktor, dan dampak dari terjadinya toxic relationship terhadap kesiapan menikah pada mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Informan kunci dalam penelitian ini yaitu terdapat korban dan korban sekaligus pelaku dalam toxic relationship, sedangkan informan pendukung dalam penelitian ini yaitu teman dari informan kunci. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan didalam toxic relationship terdapat kekerasan berupa kekerasan verbal, emosional, dan fisik yang menyebabkan kerugian pada pasangan yang menjalani toxic relationship. Dampak toxic relationship pada pasangan yang merupakan mahasiswa pada usia dewasa muda mengakibatkan mereka belum memiliki kesiapan menikah pada aspek kesiapan mental dan emosi karena memiliki ketakutan dan kekhawatiran yang muncul akibat dari toxic relationship. Kata Kunci : Kesiapan Menikah, Mahasiswa, Toxic Relationship This research is motivated by the rampant cases of toxic relationships among students who are at the age of young adulthood, where toxic relationships are harmful actions. Toxic relationships are often found among students but it is difficult to get out of the situation. The purpose of this study is to determine the understanding, factors, and impact of toxic relationships on marriage readiness in college students. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interview, documentation study, and literature study. Key informants in this study are victims and victims as well as perpetrators in toxic relationships, while supporting informants in this study are friends of key informants. The results of this study show that in toxic relationships there is violence in the form of verbal, emotional, and physical violence which causes harm to couples who undergo toxic relationships. The impact of toxic relationships on couples who are students at the age of young adulthood results in them not having marriage readiness in the aspects of mental and emotional readiness because they have fears and worries that arise as a result of toxic relationships.
