Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh menurunnya return saham PT Ricky Putra Globallindo Tbk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran profitabilitas yang diukur dengan Earning Per Share (EPS) dan untuk mengetahui gambaran return saham. Serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh profitabilitas terhadap return saham PT Ricky Putra Globalindo Tbk. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dan verifikatif, kemudian teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi linier sederhana, koefisien determinasi dan uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t dan uji-f. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder EPS dan return saham pada PT Ricky Putra Globallindo Tbk dari tahun 2006-2011. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa perkembangan EPS mengalami fluktuasi cenderung menurun. Perkembangan return saham pun cenderung mengalami penurunan. Hasil uji statistik menyatakan bahwa EPS berpengaruh positif dan tidak signifikan terhadap return saham. Hal ini berarti EPS masih mempunyai pengaruh terhadap return saham walaupun rendah pengaruhnya. Kata Kunci: Profitabilitas, Earning Per Share, dan Return Saham. The research was motivated by the stock returns decrease of PT Ricky Putra Globalindo Tbk. The purpose of this research was determined the profitability which is measured by Earning Per Share (EPS) and to describe stock returns. As well determined the effect of Earning Per Share (EPS) to stock return. The method used in this research is descriptive and verification methods, and techniques of analysis used simple regression analysis, coefficient determination and hypothesis test used t-test and f-test. This research used secondary data on EPS and stock return PT Ricky Putra Globalindo Tbk from year 2006 to 2011. The results of this research shows that EPS growth fluctuated tended to decrease. The development of stock returns also tended to decrease. Statistical test results stated that EPS has a positive effect and no significant effect on stock returns. This means that the EPS still have an influence on stock returns although the low impact. While the remaining influenced by other factors not examined in this research.
