Abstract

This research was motivated by the decline in the trend of physical activity (sports) carried out by the world community so that it could have an impact on decreasing the quality of health, work productivity, and social relations in the community. Efforts that can be made are by providing a forum for the community to be able to exercise properly and correctly as well as education about the importance of maintaining health through the formation of a community that can guide and direct one of them through the BARSTARD (Bandung Street Workout Addict) community. Sports activities carried out in this community are calisthenic sports by utilizing public facilities carried out on Jl. Supratman Bandung City. This study was conducted to find out tips carried out by the BARSTARD community in improving people's lifestyles for exercise. This research uses qualitative approach and case study method. The subjects of this reaserch are founders, administrators and members of the BARSTARD community, as well as community elements who participate in sports activities. Data collection is done through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results of this reaserch show that (1) the establishment of the BARSTARD community originated from the idea of Mr. Indra in 2013 due to the development of calisthenic sports so that it became the driving force of the surrounding community to be able to exercise; (2) activities carried out by the BARSTARD community are routine sports based on lady and cutting, beginner, bulk+ and freestyle classes as well as social activities that can arouse the public to exercise; (3) obstacles faced by the BARSTARD community are the lack of adequate facilities, the membership system is not binding and the Covid-19 pandemic but can be overcome by using used goods such as car tires and public facilities, selling merchandise, and conducting assessments to monitor the progress of each member; (4) public perception of the BARSTARD community is so positive that this community can still exist today.
