Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan desain media pembelajaran “Koja” bercirikan etnomatematika guna meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik dan meminimalisir hambatan pada saat proses pembelajaran Matematika dalam materi bangun datar khususnya trapesium dan belah ketupat. Tujuan dari penelitian yaitu meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik dan meminimalisir hambatan pada saat proses pembelajaran Matematika dalam materi bangun datar khususnya trapesium dan belah ketupat.. Metode pada penelitian ini yaitu Design Based Reseacrh (DBR) menurut Amiel dan Reeves. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDN Margajaya. Adapun tahapan pada penelitian ini (1) identifikasi dan analisis masalah dan praktisi secara kolaboratif, (2) pengembangan prototype sebagai solusi yang berdasarkan desain, prinsip, dan inovasi teknologi yang ada, (3) siklus berulang pengujian dan penyempurnaan solusi dalam praktik, dan (4) siklus berulang pengujian dan penyempurnaan solusi dalam praktik. Jenis pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, angket, observasi, dan values clarification test. Produk akhir penelitian ini berupa desain media pembelajaran “Koja” bercirikan etnomatematika. Uji coba penelitian ini dilakukan pada saat sesudah dan sebelum menggunakan desain media “Koja” menggunakan values vlarification test. Berdasarkan penelitian yang sudah dilakukan menunjukan adanya perubahan pada saat sebelum dan sesudah menggunaakan desain media pembelajaran “Koja” bercirikan etnomatematika. This study focuses on enhancing the design of the learning tool "Koja" through the integration of ethnomathematics principles. The primary goal is to improve students' comprehension and reduce challenges during the study of Mathematics, specifically related to flat geometric concepts like trapezoids and rhombuses. The research adopts the Design Based Research (DBR) approach introduced by Amiel and Reeves. The investigation took place at SDN Margajaya and followed these key steps: (1) collaborative identification and analysis of problems and educators' insights, (2) creating prototype solutions based on established designs, principles, and technological innovations, (3) iterative testing and refinement of solutions in real-world educational settings, and (4) ongoing cycles of testing and enhancing solutions in practice. Data collection methods encompassed interviews, questionnaires, observations, and values clarification assessments. The ultimate output of this research is the ethnomathematics-infused "Koja" learning tool design. To assess its effectiveness, the trial involved comparing students' performance and engagement before and after utilizing the "Koja" tool, incorporating value variation testing. The findings highlight significant improvements resulting from the adoption of the ethnomathematics-inspired "Koja" learning tool design. In summary, this research aims to enhance the learning experience in Mathematics, particularly concerning flat geometric concepts like trapezoids and rhombuses, by developing the "Koja" learning tool with ethnomathematics principles. The research methodology involved Design Based Research, including collaborative problem identification, prototype development, iterative testing, and data collection through various methods. The study ultimately demonstrates positive changes attributed to the ethnomathematics-based "Koja" learning tool design.
