Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi belum optimalnya perkembangan toleransi beragama mahasiswa dan belum tersedianya model bimbingan dan konseling untuk mengembangkan toleransi beragama mahasiswa. Sementara itu di tengah-tengah keberagaman budaya dan keberagamaan, toleransi beragama merupakan faktor pendorong pencapaian kedamaian, dan keharmonian perkembangan kehidupan berdemokrasi berbangsa dan bernegara. Tujuan penelitian ini menemukan model bimbingan dan konseling spiritual untuk mengembangkan toleransi beragama mahasiswa dan menemukan konsep toleransi beragama perspektif mahasiswa. Pendekatan penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kombinasi atau campuran (mixed methods research) dengan desain embedded dan diselenggarakan dengan desain fenomenalogi, desain kuasi eksperimen (pretest-posttest control group design), dan desain studi kasus. Tahapan penelitian diawali studi pendahuluan, pengembangan model, validasi rasional model, dan validasi empirik. Populasi penelitian dan sample penelitian ini mahasiswa UNP Angkatan 2020. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, obersvasi, dokumentasi, dan angket skala toleransi beragama mahasiswa. Teknik Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif, IPA, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji t separiet sample test, uji t indenpenden sample test dan efek size cohen’s d. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan rumusan model bimbingan dan konseling spiritual yang kompenenya meliputi, definisi, rasional, asumsi, konsep kunci, kebutuhan, prinsip dasar, strategi dan langkah-langkah serta evaluasi bimbingan dan konseling spiritual. Model bimbingan dan konseling spiritual untuk mengembangkan toleransi beragama signifikan dengan memiliki efek size yang besar. Dengan demikian model bimbingan dan konseling spiritual layak dan dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan toleransi beragama mahasiswa. This research is motivated by the suboptimal development of religious tolerance among students and the absence of a guidance and counseling model for fostering religious tolerance among students. Meanwhile, amidst cultural and religious diversity, religious tolerance is a driving factor for achieving peace and harmony in the development of democratic life within the nation. The purpose of this research is to develop a spiritual guidance and counseling model to enhance religious tolerance among students and to explore the concept of religious tolerance from the students' perspective. This research employs a mixed methods approach with an embedded design, utilizing phenomenology, quasi-experimental design (pretest-posttest control group design), and case study design. The research process begins with preliminary studies, model development, rational model validation, and empirical validation. The population and sample of this research consist of students from the 2020 cohort at Padang State University. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires using a religious tolerance scale. Data analysis techniques encompass descriptive analysis, IPA, tests for normality, tests for homogeneity, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, and Cohen's d effect size. The results of this research formulate a spiritual guidance and counseling model with components including definition, rationale, assumptions, key concepts, needs, basic principles, strategies, steps, and the evaluation of spiritual guidance and counseling. The spiritual guidance and counseling model significantly contributes to the development of religious tolerance, demonstrating a large effect size. Consequently, the proposed spiritual guidance and counseling model is deemed suitable and effective for fostering religious tolerance among students.
