Abstract
The city of Bandung has an image as a culinary destination city, this is indicated by the many legendary local foods in various sub-districts. Gastronomic tourism developed by tour guides in this city includes local food known as culinary as well as other components such as history, tradition, philosophy, how to taste, presentation, educational value, nutritional value, tourist experience, ethics and ethics. However, there is no competency for gastronomic tour guides in the city of Bandung. The aims of this study were (1) to identify the competencies of gastronomic tour guides based on nine gastronomic components, (2) to identify the competencies of gastronomic tour guides based on areas of expertise, (3) to identify the main competencies of gastronomic tour guides. The method used in this research is qualitative by using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) which is based on questionnaire interviews with 26 Nona Helix and followed by Focus Group Discussion by the reviewers. The results of this AHP research show that the area of expertise shows the highest weight compared to other features, this is because gastronomic tour guides remain focused on their guidance even though the type of tourism handled is special interest tourism. Furthermore, the results of the Focus Group Discussion with reviewers where gastronomic tour guides do not fully have to have cooking skills and tour guides are expected to be related to regional tourism, and the authors formulate 12 main skills that must be possessed by gastronomic tour guides in the city of Bandung. This research is expected to be a reference in tourism guidance, especially gastronomic tourism guidance in the city of Bandung.
