Teti Sumiati, - (2023) PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN SCRAMBLE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PERMULAAN SISWA DI SEKOLAH DASAR. S2 thesis, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
Abstract
The background of this research is the lack of initial reading ability in grade I students. The aim is to determine the increase in initial reading ability through the scramble learning model. The research method uses Quasi Experimental Design, namely the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this research is grade 1 students at SDN Margalaksana and SDN 1 Mandalasari. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets of student learning activities and tests (pre-test and post-test). The results showed that the significance in the experimental class and control class was 0.218 and 0.315 > 0.05, meaning that both samples were normally distributed (significance value > 0.05, then Ho was accepted). The results of the significance homogeneity test were 0.280 ≥ 0.05. The results of the hypothesis test, the significance of 0.002 ≤ 0.05, which means that there is a difference in the initial reading ability between students in the experimental class and students in the control class. Student responses in learning with the scramble learning model obtained a percentage of 87.92% with the criteria of "Very Good". The results of the study show that the learning model of the scramble learning model can improve initial reading skills compared to the conventional learning model. This is evidenced by the average post-test score of the experimental class with an average of 88.96 while that of the control class is 79.17.
