Abstract
Literasi sains dan sikap terbuka adalah kompetensi utama pendidikan abad 21 yang sangat dibutuhkan dalam menghadapi tantangan di era globalisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran RADEC terhadap literasi sains dan sikap terbuka siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD). Penelitian dilakukan atas dasar kajian studi sebelumnya yang menunjukkan bahwa literasi sains dan sikap terbuka siswa Indonesia, khususnya pada jenjang Pendidikan dasar yang perlu ditingkatkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan rancangan penelitian the pretest-posttest control group design. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu SDN 5 Gunungpereng dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 58 orang siswa kelas V. Literasi sains diukur dengan instrumen tes berupa soal dan sikap terbuka diukur dengan skala sikap berupa angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran RADEC berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap literasi sains dan sikap terbuka siswa. Kemampuan literasi sains siswa berdasarkan hasil pretest dan posttest mengalami peningkatan pada level yang lebih tinggi dengan kenaikan nilai rata-rata sebesar 6,76 setelah diterapkannya pembelajaran RADEC. Hasil yang sama juga menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran RADEC memiliki performa rata-rata skor literasi sains yang lebih tinggi dari pada siswa yang tidak belajar dengan pembelajaran RADEC. Adapun untuk sikap terbuka, hasil analisis skor pretest dan posttest menunjukkan bahwa sikap terbuka siswa meningkat lebih baik setelah diterapkannya pembelajaran RADEC dengan kenaikan nilai rata-rata hasil angket sebesar 29,8. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran RADEC dapat meningkatkan literasi sains dan sikap terbuka siswa SD. Scientific literacy and an open attitude are the main competencies of 21st century education which are urgently needed in facing challenges in the era of globalization. This study aims to determine the effect of RADEC learning on scientific literacy and open attitude of elementary school students. The research was conducted on the basis of previous study studies which showed that the scientific literacy and open attitude of Indonesian students, especially at the basic education level, needed to be improved. The research method used was a quasi experiment with the pretest-posttest control group design. The research was conducted at SDN 5 Gunungpereng with 58 research subjects in class V. Scientific literacy was measured by test instruments in the form of questions and open attitude was measured by an attitude scale in the form of a questionnaire. The results showed that RADEC learning had a significant effect on scientific literacy and students' open attitude. The ability of students' scientific literacy based on the results of the pretest and posttest has increased at a higher level with an increase in the average value of 6.76 after the implementation of RADEC learning. The same results also show that students who learn with RADEC learning have an average performance score of higher scientific literacy than students who do not learn with RADEC learning. As for the open attitude, the results of the pretest and posttest score analysis showed that the open attitude of students increased better after the implementation of RADEC learning with an increase in the average value of the questionnaire results of 29.8. So it can be concluded that the RADEC learning model can improve scientific literacy and open attitude of elementary students.
