Abstract

Teknik dasar bola tangan dan pertandingan bola tangan seperti flying shoot pada saat menyerang dan blocking pada saat defense memerlukan power otot tungkai karena adanya lompatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan weight training dan plyometrics terhadap power otot tungkai. Desain penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian Two Group Pretest and Posttest Design. Sampel pada penelitian ini Atlet POPDA Bola Tangan Kota Bandung Putra yang berjumlah 14 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes triple hop jump. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa latihan plyometrics memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan power tungkai. Latihan weight training memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan power otot tungkai. Tidak terdapat perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikan antara latihan plyometrics dengan latihan weight training. Latihan weight training dan plyometrics memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap power otot tungkai atlet bola tangan. Terdapat pula hasil dari perbandingan latihan kelompok weight training dan kelompok plyometrics peneliti mendapatkan hasil perbedaan yang tidak signifikan dengan menggunakan uji independent t tes untuk kelompok weight training dan plyometrics, tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok weight trainaing dan plyometrics. Basic handball techniques and handball matches such as flying shoots during attack and blocking during defense require leg muscle power because of the jump. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of weight training and plyometrics training on leg muscle power. The research design used in this study used a Two Group Pretest and Posttest Design research design. The sample in this study was Bandung City Handball POPDA Male Athletes totaling 14 people. The instrument used is the triple hop jump test. The results revealed that plyometrics training had a significant effect on increasing leg power. Weight training exercises have a significant effect on increasing leg muscle power. There is no significant difference in influence between plyometrics training and weight training. Weight training and plyometrics training have a significant effect on leg muscle power for handball athletes. There are also results from the comparison of training weight training groups and plyometrics groups, researchers get the results of insignificant differences using independent t tests for weight training and plyometrics groups, there is no significant difference between weight training and plyometrics groups.
