Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kasus intoleransi antar umat beragama di lembaga Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini di Cianjur. Tema intoleransi merupakan bagian dari pembahasan pendidikan multibudaya. Cara untuk mengikis kasus intoleransi tersebut menjadi sebuah kebutuhan masyarakat. Sehingga tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan bagaimana kebutuhan masyarakat terhadap pengembangan lembaga Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini berbasis multibudaya. Pengambilan data penelitian ini melaui Focus Group Discussion (FGD) atau diskusi kelompok terarah dan wawancara lembaga PAUD. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan content analysis dan analisis SWOT. Analisis dikupas dengan teori ekologi lingkungan dari Bronfrenbrenner, teori multibudaya dari James Bank dan HAR Tilaar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian melalui FGD kepada masyarakat dan wawancara ke lembaga, telah ditemukan 3 tema besar untuk mengikis kasus intoleransi di Cianjur. Tema besar tersebut menjadi kebutuhan masyarakat terhadap pengembangan lembaga pendidikan anak usia dini berbasis multibudaya. Kebutuhan tersebut antara lain; 1) kebutuhan masyarakat itu sendiri, 2) kebutuhan lembaga pendidikan, dan 3) kebutuhan regulasi pemerintah. Kebutuhan masyarakat di dalamnya memuat kebutuhan kualitas pendidikan, lembaga pendidikan, dan keteladanan. Sementara kebutuhan lembaga pendidikan di dalamnya memuat kebutuhan kurikulum dan pendidik. Dan kebutuhan regulasi pemerintah memuat kebutuhan kebijakan politik pendidikan, penanggulangan serta kebijakan perijinan. Sementara faktor penghambat dan pendukung kebutuhan masyarakat Cianjur berupa karakter masyarakat Cianjur yang fanatik, etnosentris dan etnoreligius. Penghambat dari lembaga pendidikan adalah kualitas sumber daya manusia. Dari regulasi pemerintah berupa strategi kebijakan yang tidak mendukung terhadap terwujudnya pendidikan multibudaya. Semua faktor penghambat jika direlevansikan dengan pendidikan multibudaya maka solusi potensial sebagai faktor pendukungnya adalah pendidikan kolaboratif yang terbuka terhadap keberagaman antar umat beragama. This research is motivated by cases of intolerance among religious communities Early Childhood Education institutions in Cianjur. Intolerance is part of the discussion on multicultural education. Ways to erode cases of intolerance is a community need. So the purpose of this study is to describe how the community's needs for the development of multicultural-based early childhood education institutions. Retrieval of research data through Focus Group Discussion (FGD) or focus group discussions and interviews with Early Childhood Education institutions. The data obtained were analyzed using content analysis and SWOT analysis. The analysis is explained by environmental ecological theory from Bronfrenbrenner, multicultural theory from James Bank and HAR Tilaar. Based on the results of research through FGD with the community and interviews with institutions, 3 major themes have been found to erode cases of intolerance in Cianjur. This big theme becomes the community's need for the development of multicultural-based early childhood education institutions. These needs include; 1) the needs of the community itself, 2) the needs of educational institutions, and 3) the need for government regulations. Community needs include the need for quality education, educational institutions, and exemplary. While the needs of educational institutions include the needs of curriculum and educators. And the need for government regulation includes the need for political education policies, management and licensing policies. Meanwhile, the inhibiting and supporting factors for the needs of the Cianjur people are the character of the Cianjur people who are fanatical, ethnocentric and ethnoreligious. The bottleneck of educational institutions is the quality of human resources. From government regulations in the form of policy strategies that do not support the realization of multicultural education. If all the inhibiting factors are relevant to multicultural education, then a potential solution as a supporting factor is collaborative education that is open to diversity between religions.
