Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangngnya kemampuan siswa dalam pengajaran membaca khususnya dalam pengajaran membaca pemahaman novel. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kemampuan membaca pemahaman novel siswa sebelum menggunakan model pengajaran Think Pair and Share, kemampuan membaca pemahaman novel siswa sesudah menggunakan model pengajaran Think Pair and Share dan perbedaan yang signifikan antara memampuan membaca pemahaman novel siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model Think Pair and Share. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain yang digunakan One group pre test and post test. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI. C SMAN 5 Bandung tahun ajaran 2022/2023 yang berjumlah 36 siswa, 20 perempuan dan 16 laki-laki. Teknisnya adalah teknis tes tulis. Hasil penelitian adalah rata-rata hasil kemampuan membaca pemahaman novel siswa kelas XI. C sebelum menggunakan model Think Pair and Share, sedangkan rata-rata kemampuan membaca novel siswa kelas XI. C sesudah menggunakan modeal Think Pair and Share adalah, berdasarkan pada hasil uji parametris (t-test), bahwa nilai signifikan (sig. 2-tailed) adalah 0,000<0,05, maka dari itu Ha diterima atau H0 ditolak. Artinya hipotesis diterima. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan membaca pemahaman novel siswa kelas XI. C SMAN 5 Bandung tahun ajaran 2022/2023 sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model Think Pair and Share. This research is motivated by the lack of students' ability in teaching reading, especially in teaching reading comprehension of novels. The purpose of this study was to determine students' reading comprehension ability of students' novels before using the Think Pair and Share teaching model, students' reading comprehension abilities after using the Think Pair and Share teaching model and the significant difference between students' reading comprehension ability before and after using the Think Pair model. and Share. In this study using quantitative analysis with a quasi-experimental method with the design used One group pre test and post test. The source of the data in this research is class XI students. C SMAN 5 Bandung for the academic year 2022/2023 with a total of 36 students, 20 girls and 16 boys. The technique is a technical written test. The result of this research is the average result of students' reading comprehension ability in class XI. C before using the Think Pair and Share model, while the average ability to read novels for class XI students. C after using the Think Pair and Share model is, based on the results of the parametric test (t-test), that the significant value (sig. 2-tailed) is 0.000 <0.05, therefore Ha is accepted or H0 is rejected. This means that the hypothesis is accepted. This proves that there is a significant difference between the reading comprehension ability of class XI students. C SMAN 5 Bandung academic year 2022/2023 before and after using the Think Pair and Share model.
