Abstract
Pertandingan kumite dilaksanakan dalam satu hari dari babak penyisihan hingga babak final dengan jumlah pertandingan antara 3-5 dengan waktu pertandingan 3 menit. Maka dari itu diperlukan daya tahan yang baik agar setiap atlet bisa menyelesaikan setiap babaknya tanpa mengalami kelelahan yang berarti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh dari metode interval training intensive terhadap peningkatan daya tahan aerobik atlet kumite cabang olahraga karate. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan design penelitian pretest posttest control group design. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 20 orang atlet karate. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan bleep test. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode interval training intensive dan metode interval training extensive memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan daya tahan aerobik. Dan metode interval training intensive lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan metode interval training extensive dalam meningkatkan daya tahan aerobik. Kumite matches are held in one day from the preliminary round to the final round with the number of matches between 3-5 with a match time of 3 minutes. Therefore, good endurance is needed so that each athlete can complete each round without experiencing significant fatigue. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the interval training intensive method on increasing aerobic endurance of kumite athletes in karate. The method used in this study is an experimental method with pretest posttest control group design. The sample in this study was 20 karate athletes. The research instrument used in this study used a bleep test. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the interval training intensive method and the interval training extensive method have a significant influence on increasing aerobic endurance. And the interval training intensive method is more effective than the interval training extensive method in increasing aerobic endurance.
