Abstract

Perairan Leuweung Sancang merupakan perairan cagar alam dengan beberapa ekosistem diantaranya ekosistem mangroove, padang lamun dan karang. Kehadiran Echinodermata di lamun dan karang dapat dilihat dari peranannya sebagai pemakan detritus, dimana lamun dan karang merupakan tempat produsen primer dalam rantai makanan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman, kelimpahan dan pola sebaran Echinodermata di Perairan Leuweung Sancang. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan belt transect dengan ukuran frame 1x1 meter yang diletakkan sepanjang belt, secara berselingan serta dilakukan pengambilan data sebanyak tiga kali. Selama penelitian telah ditemukan 16 species Echinodermata yang terdiri dari satu species Classis Asteroidea, enam species Classis Echinoidea, lima species Classis Holothuridea, dan empat species Classis Ophiuroidea. Ophiocoma scolopendrina (Classis Ophiuroidea) merupakan species yang kehadirannya paling dominan pada setiap belt serta memiliki tingkat indeks keanekaragaman tertinggi (H’= 0,3306). Secara umum, indeks keanekaragaman di Perairan Leuweung Sancang termasuk kategori rendah dengan nilai H’= 0,91767, begitupun dengan indeks kemerataan masih dikatagorikan rendah (T94; = 0,33095). Hal tersebut diduga karena banyaknya eksploitasi seperti yang terjadi pada Classis Holothuroidae sebagai bahan makanan. Untuk pola sebaran Echinodermata secara umum masih teratur (uniform). Dari kelima parameter klimatik (pH, suhu, salinitas, MOT dan DO) diduga MOT yang mempengaruhi keanekaragaman dan kelimpahan Echinodermata tertinggi yang ada di belt keempat (H’= 1,0331). Selain itu belt keempat memiliki tipe substrat yang beragam dan melimpahnya makanan Echinodermata seperti alga dan sisa-sisa bahan organik yang diduga mempengaruhi tinggi keanekaragaman Echinodermata pada belt ini. Leuweung Sancang beach are the waters of a nature reserve with some of the ecosystems of which mangroove ecosystems, seagrass beds and coral. The presence of the seagrass and coral Echinodermata can be seen from its role as detritus eaters, which is where the seagrass and coral primary producers in the food chain. The research was conducted to determine the diversity, abundance and distribution patterns in the waters of Leuweung Sancang Echinodermata. Data is collected using a belt transect with a frame size of 1x1 meters placed along the belt, the alternating and performed the data collection three times. During the study has found 16 species of Echinodermata comprising one Classis Asteroidea species, six species of echinoids Classis, Classis Holothuridea five species and four species of Ophiuroidea Classis. Ophiocoma scolopendrina (Classis Ophiuroidea) is the most dominant species presence at each belt and has the highest diversity index (H '= 0.3306). In general, the index of diversity in the waters of Leuweung Sancang low category with a value of H '= 0.91767, as well as with evenness index was categorized low (T94; = 0.33095). This was allegedly because of the many exploits as it did in Classis Holothuroidae as a food ingredient. For general distribution patterns Echinodermata are still regular (uniform). Of the five climatic parameters (pH, temperature, salinity, and DO MOT) MOT allegedly affecting the diversity and abundance of Echinodermata highest in the fourth belt (H '= 1.0331). Besides the four belt has a variety of substrate types and abundance of Echinodermata foods such as algae and the remains of organic matter thought to affect the high diversity of Echinodermata in this belt.
