Abstract
ABSTRAK Permasalahan mahasiswa yang menikah membutuhkan waktu lebih lama untuk lulus daripada mahasiswa yang lajang, sebagian karena kurangnya kematangan emosi, yang pada kemudian mempengaruhi kebahagiaan mereka, demikianlah yang menginspirasi penelitian ini. Penelitian dilakukan di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, meneliti hubungan antara kematangan emosi dan kebahagiaan pernikahan di kalangan mahasiswa. Sebanyak 80 mahasiswa dalam penelitian kuantitatif korelasional ini. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan metodologi penilaian berbasis skala Likert, yang dikembangkan menjadi angket yang terdiri dari 3 aspek Kematangan Emosi menurut Schneiders (1964), yaitu 1) Kecukupan Respon Emosi, 2) Jangkauan Kedalaman Emosi, 3) Kontrol Emosi. Angket Kebahagiaan Pernikahan terdiri dari 7 aspek menurut Gottman dan Silver (Harlock, 2011), yaitu 1) Pengetahuan Tentang Pasangan, 2) Memelihara Rasa Suka dan Kagum, 3) Saling Mendekati, 4) Menerima Pengaruh dari Pasangan, 5) Kemampuan Memecahkan Masalah, 6) Mengatasi Perbedaan Pendapat, 7) Menciptakan Makna Bersama. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pemberian kuesioner, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji Spearman's Rank Order Correlation yang menghasilkan tingkat signifikansi 0,000 dan koefisien korelasi 0,672. Tiga temuan utama muncul dari analisis ini: (1) mahasiswa digambarkan memiliki tingkat kematangan emosi yang tinggi; (2) mahasiswa juga digambarkan memiliki tingkat kebahagiaan yang tinggi; dan (3) terdapat hubungan yang sangat positif dan signifikan secara statistik antara kematangan emosi dengan kebahagiaan pernikahan. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah program bimbingan kelompok. Kata Kunci: Kematangan Emosi, Kebahagiaan Pernikahan, Layanan Bimbingan. ABSTRACT The problem of married students taking longer to graduate school than single students, in part because of the lack of emotional maturity of students, which in turn affects their happiness, is what inspired this study. The researchers from the Faculty of Education, Indonesian University of Education, set out to examine the connection between emotional maturity and marital contentment among their undergraduate students. A total of 80 students were employed in this correlational quantitative investigation. The research instrument uses a Likert scale-based assessment methodology, which was developed into a questionnaire consisting of 3 aspects of Emotional Maturity according to Schneiders (1964), namely 1) Adequacy of Emotional Response, 2) Range of Emotional Depth, 3) Emotional Control. The Happiness of Marriage questionnaire consists of 7 aspects according to Gottman and Silver (Harlock, 2011), namely 1) Knowledge about Your Partner, 2) Maintaining feelings of liking and admiration, 3) Approaching each other, 4) Accepting Influence from Your Partner, 5) Ability to solve problems, 6) Overcoming Differences of Opinion, 7) Creating Shared Meaning. The research collected by the administration of questionnaires, and then analyzed using the Spearman's Rank Order Correlation test, which yielded a significance level of 0.000 and a correlation coefficient of 0.672. Three main findings emerge from these analyses: (1) students are described as having a high level of emotional maturity; (2) students are also described as having a high level of marital happiness; and (3) there is a highly positive and statistically significant relationship between emotional maturity and marital happiness.
