Abstract
Literasi matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang mendasar yang harus dimiliki oleh peserta didik. Namun, fakta yang terjadi pada beberapa sekolah, proses pembelajaran belum mendukung literasi matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media komik matematika. Media ini ditujukan untuk peningkatan literasi matematis peserta didik kelas VIII pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII pada dua SMP negeri di Kabupaten Subang. Untuk uji small group dilakukan sebanyak 6 peserta didik dan untuk field test sebanyak 33 peserta didik. Seluruhnya berasal dari peserta didik tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan yang terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu preliminary, prototyping, dan assessment. Pada tahap preliminary dilakukan analisis kemampuan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran matematika dan kurikulum. Pada tahap prototyping digunakan desain formative evaluation yang meliputi: self-evaluation, one-to-one, expert review, small group, dan field test. Tahap assessment dilakukan untuk menganalisis literasi matematis pada tahap preliminary dan prototyping. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah: walk-through (tahap expert review dan one-to-one), wawancara (tahap one-to-one, small group, dan field test), angket (tahap expert review, one-to-one, small group dan field test), soal, dan lembar observasi (tahap field test). Dari hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa penelitian ini menghasilkan satu buah media komik matematika pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam peningkatan literasi matematis. Media komik matematika ini memiliki efek potensial terhadap peserta didik berdasarkan ketercapaian indikator literasi matematis dan membantu peserta didik dalam memahami suatu masalah matematis kontekstual, sehingga peserta didik terbiasa dalam memahami dan menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual khususnya pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV). Mathematical literacy is one of the fundamental abilities that must be possessed by students. However, in some schools the learning process which occurs does not support mathematical literacy. This study aims to develop math comics media for for 8th grade students on system of linear equation in two variables, and to find out the validity, effective, and practicality of the math comics media. The subjects of this study were 8th grade students at two state junior high schools in Subang Regency, in the academic year 2022/2023. To there were two groups involved: a small group (6 students) and field test (33 students). The research method used is development research which consists of three stages, namely preliminary, prototyping, and assessment. In the preliminary stage, an analysis of students' abilities in learning mathematics and the curriculum was carried out. At the prototyping stage a formative evaluation design was used which included: self-evaluation, one-to-one, expert review, small group, and field tests. The assessment stage is carried out to analyze students mathematical literacy from the preliminary and prototyping stages. The data collection techniques used were: walk-through (expert review and one-to-one stages), interviews (one-to-one, small group and field test stages), questionnaires (expert review, one-to-one, small groups and field test stages), test, and observation sheets (field test stages). From the results of the data analysis it can be interpreted that this study produces a mathematical comics media for mathematical literacy of 8th grade students on a system of linear equation in two variables which is valid, effective, and practical. This mathematical comics media is effective for the enhancement of students mathematical literacy. It helps students to understand mathematical contextual problems so they can get used to understanding and solving contextual problems in learning mathematics, particularly in system of linear equation in two variables.
