Abstract

Living together menjadi sebuah bentuk gaya berpacaran di kalangan mahasiswa yang memiliki pemikiran dan keinginan untuk hidup bersama dengan pasangan romantis mereka yang dilakukan di sebuah kos. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap gaya berpacaran living together, faktor penyebab mahasiswa terlibat dalam hubungan living together, dan dampak yang dialami mahasiswa dalam hubungan living together. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Untuk Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sedangkan tahapan analisis data yang digunakan dimulai dari reduksi data, display data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) living together pada kalangan mahasiswa kos kerap terjadi dan menjadi rahasia umum; (2) living together terjadi disebabkan oleh faktor internal seperti kurangnya pemahaman tentang agama dan kontrol diri lemah sedangkan faktor eksternal seperti keutuhan dan pengawasan keluarga, kondisi sosial ekonomi keluarga, pengaruh lingkungan teman sebaya, dan lemahnya kontrol social masyarakat; (3) dampak dari gaya berpacaran living together yang dirasakan oleh mahasiswa yaitu terjerumus perzinahan hingga seks bebas, menipisnya iman, menurunya produktivitas, dan stigma negatif dari masyarakat. Kata Kunci: living together, perilaku menyimpang, mahasiswa kos Living together is a form of dating style among college students who have thoughts and desires to live together with their romantic partners in a boarding house. This study aims to determine students' understanding of the dating style of living together, the factors that cause students to be involved in living together relationships, and the impact experienced by students in living together relationships. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. For data collection techniques this study used observation, interview, and documentation techniques while the stages of data analysis used started from data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results of the study show that: (1) living together among boarding students often occurs and becomes an open secret; (2) living together occurs due to internal factors such as lack of understanding of religion and weak self-control while external factors such as family integrity and supervision, family socio-economic conditions, the influence of peer environment, and weak social control; (3) the impact of the dating style of living together felt by students, namely falling into adultery to free sex, diminishing faith, decreasing productivity, and negative stigma from society.
