Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran penting yang dimainkan oleh pengelola Desa Wisata Alamendah dalam pengembangan model bisnis Desa Wisata. Pihak pengelola pada penelitian ini disebut rural social entrepreneur yang menjalankan model bisnis sosial desa wisata serta menghasilkan dampak bagi masyarakat. Fokus penelitian adalah pada Desa Wisata Alamendah di Indonesia, yang merupakan contoh menarik dalam upaya mencapai keberhasilan di bidang pariwisata berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini memiliki dua tujuan utama: pertama, mengidentifikasi peran rural social entrepreneur di Desa Wisata Alamendah, dan kedua, memetakan peran mereka dalam model bisnis melalui pendekatan Social Business Model Canvas. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan 15 partisipan yang terdiri dari empat informan kunci dan 11 informan pendukung. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan empat peran utama yang dimainkan oleh pengelola desa wisata: agent of change, leader, entrepreneur, dan sustainability steward. Lebih lanjut, penelitian ini mampu memetakan peran-peran tersebut ke dalam Social Business Model Canvas, sebuah alat yang relevan dalam konteks bisnis sosial dan pengembangan pariwisata berkelanjutan. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi yang beragam baik dari sisi akademisi, praktisi ataupun stakeholders. Pengembangan pariwisata berkelanjutan tidak hanya mengandalkan aspek ekonomi semata, tetapi juga mengintegrasikan dimensi sosial dan lingkungan. Peran rural social entrepreneur dalam menjalankan model bisnis yang berfokus pada keberlanjutan adalah suatu contoh inspiratif bagi upaya serupa di komunitas lain. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mendukung dan mendorong peran rural social entrepreneur dalam memajukan pariwisata berkelanjutan di Indonesia dan di seluruh dunia. Kata Kunci: Wirausaha Sosial, Model Bisnis Sosial, Pengembangan Desa Wisata ABSTRACT This research explores the important role played by Alamendah Tourism Village managers in developing the Tourism Village business model. The management in this research is called a rural social entrepreneur who runs a tourism village social business model and produces an impact on the community. The focus of the research is on the Alamendah Tourism Village in Indonesia, which is an interesting example of efforts to achieve success in the field of sustainable tourism. This research has two main objectives: first, identifying the role of rural social entrepreneurs in the Alamendah Tourism Village, and second, mapping their role in the business model using the Social Business Model Canvas approach. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, data was collected through in-depth interviews and observations. This research involved 15 participants consisting of four key informants and 11 supporting informants. The research results reveal four main roles played by tourism village managers: agent of change, leader, entrepreneur, and sustainability steward. Furthermore, this research is able to map these roles into the Social Business Model Canvas, a tool that is relevant in the context of social business and sustainable tourism development. These findings provide various implications for both academics, practitioners and stakeholders. Sustainable tourism development does not only rely on economic aspects, but also integrates social and environmental dimensions. The role of rural social entrepreneurs in implementing business models that focus on sustainability is an inspiring example for similar efforts in other communities. Therefore, this research supports and encourages the role of rural social entrepreneurs in advancing sustainable tourism in Indonesia and throughout the world.
