Abstract

----- The era of digital globalization in electronics refers to the rapid development of digital technology, especially in the fields of semiconductors and computers. This includes sensor devices such as temperature, humidity and gas. This research focuses on the design of a gas sensor-based device to detect fruit ripeness, with durian fruit as the sample. TGS 822 and MQ-3 sensors were chosen to measure the ripeness level of durian fruit because they are sensitive to alcohol gas produced in the fruit without the need to open it. Currently, durian sellers generally rely on their sense of smell or personal experience, which is subjective and difficult to measure. Therefore, an Arduino UNO microcontroller-based durian fruit ripeness level detector with Fuzzy Logic method and gas sensor is designed. The DHT22 temperature sensor is also used to condition the sensor in the container. The maturity level identification process is divided into three classes: unripe, half-ripe, and ripe. The test results with fuzzy logic showed a success rate of 70%, with 7 successes and 3 failures out of a total of 10 trials. Each experiment involved 5 durian fruit samples, each tested twice in a repetitive manner. Thus, this device has the potential to support a more objective assessment of durian fruit ripeness.
